The computer my shuffle was aligned to crashed and is not recoverable. I was given a year old computer and can't figure out how to sync my shuffle to the new computer and override the previous owners account.

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. It will recognize the iTunes library on the PC as a new library. If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library. So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

To all new iPod shuffle owners
When syncing your new iPod Shuffle make sure that the plug end of the USB cable is inserted ALL THE WAY into the shuffle, there should be no gap between the white end and the shuffle, this also applies to earphones, buds etc. it feels like you are forcing it, but you have too
