Oct 9, 2012 2:37 PM in response to j.vijithby BGreg,Once you install 10.6, and do the Software Updates to bring it to 10.6.8 you will be able to access the App store and download Moutain Lion (as long as it's a mid/late 2007 model with 2GB or more memory).

Note. You can no longer buy Snow Leopard from an Apple retail store, only as follows.
If you are in North America ... Last I read, you must call them (1-800-MY-APPLE). It is $29 plus tax for family pack and $19 plus tax for the individual use version.

Once you have bought and upgraded you will need to apply the Combo updater for Snow Leopard. Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
For Mountain Lion the minimum specs are … technical specifications.
But if your computer meets those specs you can upgrade to Mountain Lion without any intermediate steps.
