Rescan in Disk Utility

Hello all, thanks for any help on this. We are currently running Server 10.6.4 and we have a fiber mount from our Netapp system. We have expanded the size of the disk on the netapp but the OS isn't recognizing the change. Typically after a reboot the new space is available and the disk can be extended. Is there any way to rescan or refresh the disk in disk utility to show that available space without restarting the server?
