Iphone has deleted text messages

My Iphone 4 has randomly deleted all of my text message conversations, completely emptying my inbox. Does anyone know if there is any way of getting them back, I wouldn't mind but I had some quite important messages on there. I've tried the usual switching my phone off and ive plugged my phone into my computer to see if they came back but to no avail, can anybody help?
