What if you are using your mac with OSX and not an iOS Device

Apple TV: Photo Stream unavailable after updating Apple TV software.

The fix in the blog states you need iOS to solve the problem. I want it to work with OSX on my mac, where iphoto resides. I have tried everything to agree with the new license agreement. This is the first time in 15 years Apple has made me question what they are doing?
