Date & Time grayed out
Using 10.3.9 on a sawtooth G4 400mHz
Date and Time are grayed out, so I can't reset them. It's been a long time since I had this problem, so forgive me for posting this here.

Hi Michael
Is this the Date and Time in System Preferences? Can you click into that panel alright but cannot alter the setings? If so, look at the bottom left corner for the padlock, and if it is closed, click on it and supply your Admin password to open it. That will then allow changing the settings in the date and time. I hope that is all it takes.
Actually, this was one of those "duh" moments for me. The choices were grayed out because my machine could not connect with the server to update the time. It seems that the ethernet jack was loose -- not plugged in securely -- so no connection could be made.
No Airport here.
Silly me.
