Q: Hotspot doesn't send email on laptop

Hi all.

I've successfully connected my laptop (Windows 7) to my iPhone 4 using hotspot many times.

I can use the internet and Windows Live to receive email every time.

I always seem to have a problem sending emails from my laptop.

Messages show up when receiving & sending emails:

X Send message using 'email@server.etc' Failed

/ Check for new messages on 'email@server.etc' Completed

/ Check for new messages on 'other@server.etc' Completed

I can successfully send (and receive) emails from my iPhone 4 even whilst it's connected to laptop by Hotspot.  I can send (and receive) emails from my laptop when it's not using Hotspot but connected by WiFi to my home router.

Admittedly I don't understand how this works; I just want to be able to send emails.

Can you wise people out there help me understand and solve this annoying problem please.

Cheers,

Lendl

I'm going to take a really good guess here and say you might need a cache clean/clearance. Although it seems unlikely at the moment it COULD work.

    How to clean Internet cache:

    Internet Explorer:

Go to "tools > internet options"
Go to "general" tab and click on "delete" under "browsing history"
    Uncheck "Preserve Favorites website data"
Make sure "Temporary Internet Files" are checked
    Click "Delete"
    End browser and restart

    Firefox:

    Go to "tools > options"
    Go to the "privacy tab"
    Delete "history"
    End browser and restart
