How do I make a slide show of photographs with music in the background to be burned onto dvds to watch on tvs using dvd players? The slideshow is made in iPhoto with music in the background. I exported it as a mp4. Now I need it on dvd.

Use iDVD or google programs to burn for DVD players if your DVD player spades not understand QuickTime

iDVD does not work on my machine. I tried a program called Burn and that didn't work either. I'm sure Toast would work but I don't want to spend money on something that's not even for me.
Do you even have iDVD on your machine? Did you have it previous to ugrading to Lion or Mt. Lion?
If your machine came with Lion or Mountain Lion preinstalled then iDVD (and iWeb) were not included. In that case you willl have to purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disc from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: iLife 11.
