how to turn off vibrate for alarm on iphone 5 ios 6?

with the release of the iphone 5, apple changed the dock connection...so i can no longer use it with my ihome alarm clock without an adapter.

since apple has not yet made available the adapter, i've been using alarm in the clock app to wake-up.

i love that i can set the alarm to a song...but i do not like that it vibrates when the alarm goes.

how do i turn off the vibration for the alarm on my iphone 5 running ios 6?

thanks.

iPhone 5, iOS 6

Turn vibrate off all together in settings, sounds, vibrate off on both ring and silent.

thanks chrisfromgastonia, but this seems like a labor intensive temporary fix.

it seems like i would have to disable the vibration functionality every time i want to use my alarm without vibrate, which would be whenever i use it to wake-up, and then restore it to resume normal functionality.

i am hoping for something more streamlined if it exists or offer this issue as a suggestion for an ios fix.

I have the same question. I don't want my morning alarm causing my iPhone to buzz all over the place and scare the crap out of me. I just want my alarm tone to fade in and wake me up. I don't want to turn off all vibration, since I normally keep my phone in my pocket and don't always hear it ring. Surely there's a way to disable the vibrate just for alarms (not reminder alarms, that's something different).

had the same problem and this worked for me on ios6.0.1 (10A523): 1.) went to Settings>Sounds>Vibrate and shut off vibrate on ring and vibrate on silent settings like others suggested. 2.) Scrolled down to Settings>Sounds>Sounds and Vibration Patterns and clicked on 'Ringtone'. Marimba is the default ring and also the tone I'd chosen for my alarm. I set vibration to 'none' at the top of the screen, saved it, went back to my alarm and the vibration was gone when I tested the tone. Hope this helps...

Thanks. Seems like this cropped up after the iOS 6 upgrade. Too bad Apple doesn't quality control their software before release. Something like alarm sounds is a pretty big oversight, kind of like maps. Your solution is right on the money even if it is a very roundabout way of getting to the desired result. A simple software fix would be to offer a sounds/vibrate option for ringtones, reminders, and alarms at the "settings" level. Other than oversight, I cant think of an ulterior motive for having it buried in ringtones. Thanks again for the fix!
