I read somewhere that 9.1.5 might solve the recent problems Logic is having with OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. It is easy to downgrade? Can I just trash the Logic icon in my Applications folder and install 9.1.5? If anyone else wants to give it a shot and report back here's a link to past versions:

I actually have 8 still on my system drive for some reason. I think I was unsure about 9 when it first came out or something so I didn't delete 8...? So would I need to delete the Logic 9.1.7 icon so it only sees the version of 8 I have? Then download 9.5.1 or...?

The 9.x updates won't update from version 8. You need an earlier version of 9 for it to update.
If you bought 9 on disk, install just the app from that. If you bought it as a download, you might be out of luck.
I have the disks. So do I just drag the 9.1.7 icon in the trash to un-install? I want to be able to uninstall and re- install just the app without touching all the Jam Packs etc. Is this possible? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for your help.
Yes, although instead of trashing it, I'd leave a copy of 9.1.7 on another drive so it's easy to get back. You can probably even just rename it (something like Logic 9.1.7.app) although it may be less confusing for you to move the current app elsewhere until 9.0 is installed and then updated to 9.1.5.
