Hi Yeinlan,
Most people will, eventually, have sound problems: the cause can be complex as a 'miss-behaved' app that messes the sound engine or as simple as the iPad being on Mute/Volume Down.
Take a look at this Short Video [1m40s] showing how to fix iPad Sound for all those cases:

Let me know if it had worked for you.
1. Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right
2. Check the volume and mute settings

My sound got locked off when I used the Video App and switched play over to my Apple TV. I went back and reset the play to iPad and the sound was normal again.

Just signed in to say a big thank you to Diavonex. My brand spanking new iPad suddenly lost all sound and I was just about at the point of slightly hysterically removing any and all downloaded apps in a desperate attempt to get it back when I stumbled into this Forum. I did all the obvious things but totally missed that the "Mute" button was ticked in the General settings until I saw the photo which you'd helpfully uploaded.
Very grateful me, still have all my apps!! AND now I have my sound back too. Phew.
Clementiuk, I am you got your sound back again 🙂
Logged in as well to say thanks to Diavonex My sound is back again, just when I was about to request a refund for an app I purchased that was not working. Thanks
Oxyxuche, I am glad it works for you too 🙂
Mr. Diavonex i need your assistance please. I have shut my ipad off four times in attempts to gain volume/sound again. One time i heard the little sound effect as i begun typing in my password numbers but by time i got to the third number on the password the sound effect was gone. Pandora isn't working as far as sound, youtube, nothing. This has all started three days ago...but oddly enough the sound would eventually come back.
Also Mr Diavonex i do not have an option to slide the volume up or down (really left to right) like on your picture. I have everything on your picture but the nob to slide from left to right ( before the orange music sign icon on your picture here in this thread) ...so the bar is there but no nob, and the first icon D))) volume sign is not crossed out like your picture.

Angelmist, try the basic trouble-shooting steps
1. Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
3. If the above doesn't work, you may have to backup and do a Restore
i need the assistance from u guys, my ipad3 speakers suddenly went off, no volume then searched the apple communities and tried to fix the problem as Diavonex and other had said.
