Fullscreen for safari on Ipad

Hi,

I would like to know can we view Safari in fullscreen mode for Ipad?

If it is possible, how should I do it?

iPad, iOS 5.1.1

The feature was not released for the iPad. It only works on the iPhone and the iPod Touch.

iOS 6 features and capabilities vary between devices, with some features available only with certain devices and models.

it verges on insane that there is no fullscreen option for Safari. Isn't Apple supposed to be all about the experience? why would I want to look at an ugly address bar with tabs on it when i can hold a website in my hands? yes, I understand that there are alternatives but that's no reason, this should be the bare minimum for an ipad web surfing app. I appreciate and make use of cloud synchronisation between my macbook and the ipad, but still switch to dolphin when reading longer articles and I am sure I am not the only one.

The amount of screen real estate that could be obtained by a "full screen" mode on an iPad in minimal 3-4% at best. Hardly worth the effort and practically no impact on site readability. You can turn off the favorites bar (Setting app > Safari), and on some sites use the the Reader function, but other than that no Safari option for full screen nor any indication of a change coming. You can offer your feedback to Apple here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/; or use an alternate browser (of which there are many, some offering variations of "full screen").

This is not about practicality, it is about aesthethics and style, which normally are amongst apple's selling points, but most of all about choice. An extra butten hidden somewhere really wouldn't harm anyone's experience who doesn't want to use it, I understand that they don't want to clutter their app with fancy add-ons but consider this a bare minimum requirement and not an extra. Thanks for the feedback link, I will vent my frustration through the appropriate channels (no feedback can be given in the appstore to Safari, I find that outragous too)
