Have you added or changed Ram recently?

Hi Csound1,
I haven't added any RAM my daughter was using the computer then it hung so powered it down then the beeping started. Do you know if there is a combination of buttons I can press when powering up that will put me in some kind of safe mode so that I can find out what's up, I tried pressing D when the beeping started but it didn't make a difference.

I doubt that you can even reach that point but ... reboot and at the sound of the chime hold the shift key until the spinning gear appears, then release it. I am 99% certain that will not work. 3 beeps is the startup code for Bad Ram, and it is usually correct. Check that the Ram is correctly seated, if it is post back.
Well that's weird I removed and replaced the RAM and now it's working fine. Thanks for the help.

You're welcome, the Ram may have been almost seated to start with, time and motion will eventually do the rest.
