I have a MBpro retina and I am having problems downloading .dmg files. I bought the computer so i could use autocad and the like, but when i tried to download the file, it said the .dmg file could not be mounted. How can i fix this?
what kind of dmg files? give some exmaple.
Is it just the Autocad file or more general?
Go to System Preferences>Security and Privacy>General:
Under 'Allow applications downloaded from: select 'Anywhere'
Sorry, I am talking about the AutoCAD file itself mainly. I really can't remeber any other types of files, but I have tried multiple versions of the same download and nothing is working.
it is alreay set on "anywhere"
Did you follow my suggestion?, oh now I see that you did.
So, you have downloaded the file, and when you try to mount the operation fails?
Download a new copy (unless you can verify the filesize with AutoDesk)
yes, i already set it on anywhere a while ago :/
Can you exactly tell what does it say at the time of mounting?
That is the problem, it never mounts. It just says that there aren't any mountable systems.
are you sure that the dmg is for macintosh?

DMG's are OSX files.
What is the full file name and what is the file size?
Yes,generally. But some dmgs like Adobe photoshop doesn't work due to case sensitive volume where OSX is installed.
AutoCAD_2013_English_Mac_OSX.dmg 415.2 MB
That is the wrong file size (see below) your download failed so download it again.
