Apple TV and iPad keyboard

Is there a way to sync the iPad with the Apple TV in a way that allows me to use the IPad keyboard insteady of the goofy one that is already on there? I've got it synced but I still have to highlight and select every letter when I search for something.

All you can do is use the apple remote app. it will work as a "mouse" and a "keyboard" for your apple T.V.
