Bevor I bought this Mac I use an Epson Stylus Pro 4000 printer to print banner paper 17" and longer 50". But only this one is not listed on my Mac OS X 10.6.8. What to do to work with this printer?

That older printer is not supported by Epson for Snow Leopard.

The 4000 is completely supported by Epson. All the way through 10.8 Mountain Lion if you need it. I used one myself in Snow Leopard until selling it and upgrading to the 4900.

The drivers are here. Download both the version 8.6.3 driver and the version 9 updater. Install the drivers first, then the updater.
