I actually deleted the contact and typed the name in a text to see if it will come up and it does!!!! The crazy thing is that it only doesn't that with other iPhone users. So. Les say u delete someone that has a iPhone in ur contacts then go to text and type In there name there name will show up still.. Or if that contact has multiple numbers and u delete the number that was a iPhone number when ever that person text u the old number shows up. I know it's a iPhone contact issue because if I delete a contact that doesn't have a iPhone then it's gone!!!this is the second time this happened first with my 4s and then now with the five!!!!! Soooooooo I'm looking for a easy fix because before I just erased my phone and completely reset it and then erased the issue in iCloud and it was fine.

Because ALL of the info you've received in this thread is completely wrong. Even the answer you marked as "Solved" is wrong.

Fact is, the ONLY way to remove this data from any iPhone is to restore the phone as a new device in iTunes, NOT from backup. Either that, or you live with it. There is NO other way to edit this data on the phone itself.

That's what I was saying I completely reset the phone and actually I did it from a older back up and it was fine!!!!!! What I did was instead of backing it up from the computer I backed it up from iCloud but erased the contact before I restored it and it worked great. But I was hoping that was not the final say so!!!!! Now y is that the case though? Y do u have to erase ur phone to erase a contact that's crazy

Lets all be honest , we all delete our exs then with a pang of regret we can't help ourselves and want to speak to the douchbags again. This horrible phone constantly reminds me of my ex when i type in d to text dad.. Ex is right at the top. And I cry!!! Iv lost work contacts before by restoring wrong. This phone isn't helpful when one has no self control or any pride left. Even renaming the contact to unknown doesnt work because when d is typed unknown will still pop up. Why is there solution to this problem that isn't just restore. It's as daft as iPod having a stroke when you can't just add random songs you have to sync the whole lot never to delete them off the computer for space!!!

Thank you for my rant. I jus feel blue
