Issues w/ Podcast App

Prior to IOS6, I downloaded tons of podcasts. Since the upgrade, this has been severely impacted by the errors and lagging of the new Podcast app. The app lags terribly on the IPhone 4. On both iPhone and iPad, the app will not delete old podcasts even though the settings are set to save only the last 2 or 3. It has an automatic download feature which hasn't automatically downloaded anything since I started with this.

Am I doing something wrong or are these bugs that Apple will fix soon?!
