"Messages Quit Unexpectedly" EVERY time

Every time I open Messages on my MacBook Pro (early 2012, running Mountain Lion 10.8.2) an error message comes up telling me that it "quit unexpectedly". I have tried numerous suggestions (deleting plist files, fixing contact card, force quiting imagent in Activity Monitro), but nothing has worked. Any ideas?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Hi,

(13 other people have this issue ??)

Oh, the date !!!

If you have done all these then look in the Console App and see if this has any other info at the time it Quits.

Also see if in ~/Library/Logs there is a Crash report for it.

At this stage I would suggest looking at the Font Book and making sure Helvetica and Lucida Grande are Active and Validated and not Duplicated.

However I would have also expected some other app to be complaining if these fonts were not active.
