Why does my partners iphone 5 say settings > general > cellular but mine says settings > general > mobile data? Trying to turn off 3g

Please can anyone help. My partner and I both have the iphone 5 on the same network. He has great signal yet mine is really poor. He has told me to turn off the 3G but his phones settings are different to mine and I don't know why. His say settings > general > cellular where he can do this, but mine is settings > general > mobie data where I then have personal hotspots LTE datat roaming etc. Why are they different? 😕
