Key symbols that appear as shortcuts?

Is there any reference source to that have simple descriptions of which keyboard key corresponds to which symbol for keys that appear as menu item shortcuts? I wanted to know what key corresponds to the third of the key combo that invokes the Force Quit command in the Apple menu (see below). The help function in Finder was useless and the manuals available for OSX versions from the Apple support site were even worse ... they only had links referring to manuals for apps!

After much wandering around and wasted time, I finally stumbled across a question in this forum that incidentally gave the needed info ... its the escape key. Who would have thunk it?!

In general of late, I have found the Help functions in OSX to be decreasing helpful. Has anyone else this experience? I find that I need to come to this discussion forum to get any useful assistance.
