i forgot my password for my iPod and know i can't get on.. how do i get back on?

basically, there is no real way for you to gain access to the device. You may be able to take it to an apple store and see if they are able to assist you. But, to be honest, you will have to do a full restore, making it "fresh out of the box" As long as you have a sync on your puter or icloud, you will be prompted to sync it with that backup after the restore. But you still may have the password issue is you do this after the restore.

Connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
