Interim Fix for IOS6 WiFi victims...

Interim Fix for IOS6 WiFi victims...

I was able to get the WiFi on ios6 working! Multiple clients that I provide support to have been plagued by the WiFi loss with upgrading to IOS6 on multiple iDevices (4S/iPad2,&3). Some devices worked at home but not at office; some at office but not at their homes. Not every device; not on every network. I tried every suggestion I could read to no avail.

When reading a recent post regarding 802.1 standards I light bulb went off in my head “try an older router!” I pulled out an old Netgear WGR614v# I had in a closet, reset it to factory setting, went through a basic setup and voila! 🙂 the first two devices (4S/iPad2) connected the first time (no security set). Set security to WPA-PSK and it would NOT connect; set at 40/64-bit WEP it DID connect. So I can recomment some level of security though not the desired level.

Hopefully Apple will own-up and get this resolved so our iLives can return to normal!
