Q: Trying to connect old powerbook G4 to WPA wifi network
Just resurrected one of my old Powerbook G4's (running OS X, version 10.4) to be used as a backup computer for my mother. Was initially having some boot issues when I first tried to set up for her so i repartitioned and reloaded the OS X system onto the computer again (thus why it's only 10.4 and not 10.4.x). We have wi-fi here at the house and it is a WPA protected system. The thing is when the PB detects the wi-fi network it's only showing WEP password, WEP 40/128-bit hex or WEP40-128-bit ASCII...
Is it still possible for it to connect wirelessly? If so what do I have to do to set it up correctly? I can't get any updated software, etc until I can connect to the internet and not sure if I have a cable floating to wire connect.
Thanks!
PowerBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

OS X added WPA support in 10.3, however, as I recall there were some WPA fixes in the 10.4 releases. Couldn't you set your router security to 'none' long enough to download the 10.4.11 combo release from here (wow, only 180MB compared to 1 GB updates today)?
