Just updated itunes and now shuffle disconnects internet connection

I have 2 ipod shuffles. I just updated itunes and now when I plug in either ipod it shuts down my wirelesss internet connection. One of the ipods now gives an error that it needs to be restored, but I can't restore it without the internet connection. Even if I shut down I tunes, it won't reconnect. I have to restart my computer. HELP!!!!!!
