Q: Questions regarding bluetooth audio receiver

I am working on a hassle free way to play audio in my vehicle from my iPhone 5.  In the past I had a USB to 30 pin to aux cable.  It gave me great audio and charged the iPhone, while outputting music, driving directions, etc.  Because I cannot find a smiliar lightning cable and because I'd like to eliminate a cable I was thinking of just using a USB to lightning charger and playing my music via bluetooth through one of these:

Here are my questions:

1. The music/audio books, etc. should play with this right?

2. How will the audio quality be compared to 30 pin to aux?

3. If I am using this for audio, will Apple maps turn by turn directions also be streamed via bluetooth (i.e. come out of my car speakers via aux)?

4. If I am using this for audio, can I still use a bluetooth headset for incoming calls?  (i.e. listening to music through the receiver, and have my bluetooth headset on, then if I press the button on the headset it will bring Siri up, or answer a call and pause the audio)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Continually bumping this is not necessarily going to help you. Since the iPhone 5 is rather new, as well as the turn by turn directions, unless someone here (we are all users like you, this isn't Apple) uses this device, they could not answer your question. Since it appears no one here has used it since they haven't answered your questions, maybe you could contact the manufacturer and ask them if the unit supports iOS 6, Bluetooth v4.0 and you could also check to see if it supports the Bluetooth profiles the phone does. Here is information on that. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647

No problem.  Civil discussion is the way to go.  BTW for all interested I have purchased a bluetooth receiver as shown above.  I will post the answers to my questions later today for all interested.

Thank you for the update. As I read over  your OP again, I thought I would share what I know about the in-vehicle system I have in my 2012 Hyundai Sonata.

Everything from the phone will stream through the car speakers. The only thing I haven't tried is the turn by turn directions. I have not seen any difference in audio quality, however, the one thing I do notice is that of controlling the music. When on Bluetooth, the music is controlled on the phone, rather than the car audio device. This requires one to take their eyes off the road to mess with the phone. With the cable, everything is controlled with the car. As far as using the bluetooth headset, I believe it would have to do with whether the device allows for more than one bluetooth device to be connected at the same time, as well as whether the set you are discussing allows for phone calls. If it supports bluetooth for phone calls, I'm afraid, although I don't know definitively, it  would cause a conflict. That is something else I haven't tried on my car, but the car does have an option to disconnect the call from the car and back to the phone without disconnecting from bluetooth completely. It is a button called private, so you don't have to share the call with everyone in the car. I know the screen on the phone will allow you to choose your audio source, but again, I don't know if you can have both connected at the same time.

Hope all works out for you.

After picking up the bluetooth receiver, I have been able to answer my questions.  For those of you that may have similar questions, here are the answers.

    1. All audio comes through the bluetooth and through the car speakers

    2. Audio quality is superb

    3. Turn by turn comes out perfect as well

    4. My bluetooth headset still works fine for calls, no issues.

    1. The music/audio books, etc. should play with this right?

    yes it can

    2. How will the audio quality be compared to 30 pin to aux?

if you have a Bluetooth Receiver with an optical output ro coxial one, the quality of sound even better

    3. If I am using this for audio, will Apple maps turn by turn directions also be streamed via bluetooth (i.e. come out of my car speakers via aux)?

off cause most Bluetooth Car kit can do this, but those for home usage not suitable to work in car. Although they have better performance

    4. If I am using this for audio, can I still use a Bluetooth headset for incoming calls?  (i.e. listening to music through the receiver, and have my Bluetooth headset on, then if I press the button on the headset it will bring Siri up, or answer a call and pause the audio)

Sorry you can not connect to multiple Bluetooth devices at the same time, but Bluetooth receiver can pair with up to 8 different devices.
