Q: i have icloud on my mac and iPad. I took pictures, downloaded them to my ipad and backed them up on the iPad. I want to get them from the cloud to my mac. I go to system preferences, iCloud and see that photo stream is greyed out. it says I need

I have photos on my ipad and backed up to the icloud. I go to try to get them from the icloud to my mac pro and it says I need iphoto updatte, but when I go to update iphote it says no update available. what do I do to get my photos onto my computer from icloud

Which version of iPhoto do you have? You can get that message when, for example, you have iPhoto 8 and it is up to date as far as version 8 goes but for Photo Stream you need iPhoto 9.2.2 or later. Then you have to buy version 9 and update it.
