Updated HP Download Missing

Just downloaded HP printer update via App Store and cannot find the download! Where are the downloads placed after downloading an update?

My downloads are ALWAYS directed to my Desk Top . .nothing there.

T.Y.

Btw . .my OS is 10.8.2

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), 4GB Ram

The update should have been installed automatically.

Try using your printer.

The dmg file was mounted but did not install . . I found out later that the update was for a former version of OS X. All better now!
