Q: iPhone 5 camera won't focus

OMG I can't believe this actually works! I dropped it from knee high and the camera is focussing normally again!

my iphone 5 stopped focusing and i tried doing what you said and dropping it and smacking it against the palm of hand and its seemed to make it worse its making a weird noise and the screen kind of moves i could see two specks of sand or something in the lens but they are no longer there i don't think what should i do?

As i said in my original message , i do not recommend you doing what i did. I just explained how i fixes the problem . I would suggest try restoring your iPhone , or simply taking it to the apple store.

Thanks, it actually work, I slapped my phone on my palm twice and it was fixed.

You are a genius. I don't recommend it as well, but I did the same exact thing and it fixed my focus issue. I held my phone above a counter about 3 inches and then dropped it flat on the back and then my camera focus issue was fixed. Thank you so much for posting this. It helped and worked for me. I can breathe again because my camera works. :)

Solution to the problem:  Take your phone to an Apple Store, they will attempt to fix it, if they can't then you will get a new phone.  They replaced mine.

Dropping mine repeatedly didn't fix my focus but slapping the screen side of the phone against my palm a few times as hard as I could did!   My camera is fixed!!!

Dropping my phone (iphone 5) worked for me too. I've had a LOT of problems with Apple products lately (mavericks has trashed 4 different external drives, different manufacturers, mail doesn't work as great anymore, stuff not syncing, itunes seems to be a lot more flaky). Now their phones' lenses are getting stuck so you have to throw the thing against a wall to get it to work???? Never thought I'd say this, but I'm no longer recommending Apple products to anyone. I can't recall having this many things going wrong in the past.

That's iphone slapping/abuse works perfectly fine. Only thing is now my hand hurts... Consolation: my camera is focusing. Life is good!!!! Thanks!!!!

Wow, knee height to the floor fixed mine as well... that is the craziest fix ever. I half thought this whole thing might be a troll, but somehow it worked.
