Cannot connect to Exchange contacts in 10.8.2

My exchange account is functioning well in 10.8.2 and mail 6.2 with regard to email messages; however i have lost the ability to connect with my exchange contacts. Used to predict/add contacts from the exchange account; that functionality is gone.

I can open up my contacts preferences and see the account exists -but it does not connect.

Initially there was no password- soI filled that in... to no avail.

Any thoughts?

iMac (24-inch Early 2008), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I've got a me too here after just installing a new version of 10.8.2. The settings I'm using are:

Server: dc01.subdomain.domain.com.au

Port: 389

Searchbase: DC=subdomain,DC=domain,DC=com,DC=au

Scope: Subtree

Authentication: Simple

Username: domain\username

Password: password

I've confirmed that new installs of 10.6 and 10.7 work, but not 10.8.

I'll post any discoveries here.
