My iphoto keeps deleting all my photos, it is very frustrating trying to recover or re-drag all the photos.

I have recovered my iphoto recently, and now it has deleted all my photos out of nowhere, and it was very fustrating to drag the photos back into iphoto over an over again. Is there a way I can fix this myself? becuase I don't have the money to take this to an apple specialist.
