how do i get mountain lion osx for my macbook version 10.5.8

Someone Please tell me what to do and where to go to get the necessary updates/upgrades to get my macbook to have mountain lion os x. I want the mac app store but cant get it without mountain lion, but before i can get mountain lion i have to get snow leopard????
