Imovie

A project I spent a lot of time on in Imovie no longer opens. It shows the timeline of the movie sequence, but when I go to finalize project or watch the action is denied. Nothing happens sometimes another movie will play in its place. Its 12 minutes long could that be the problem? Please help I worked really hard on it and would hate to lose it!
