Q: I bought a apple g4 off eBay it did a system update then when it restarted it has been on the apple boot screen for 4 hours I do not know what to do

I bought a iMac g4 on eBay it started fine I did a system update it has been rebooting for 4 hours now

iMac, iOS 5.0.1

    A used iMac with an uncertain lineage like yours really ought to be restored using its original System Install disc. You did receive it with the iMac didn't you?

     

    It will be a challenge to do anything without it. If the seller did not include the discs with the iMac you may be able to order a replacement set from Apple. Contact them by calling the phone number on the Apple Online Store site.

     

    You will need the iMac's serial number and some money.
