Safari crash in text box: 100% reproducible

Since yesterday Safari has been crashing several times an hour.
More often than not, the browser crashes when I type in a text box input field.

For example, as soon as I type the first letter in the title field of this post Safari will crash.
This is 100% reproducible.
It will also crash for example if I try to look up a ticker symbol on some sites or try to use the input fields on Google Adsense.

I'm using Firefox Deer Park UB to type this, but Firefox also crashes sometimes. As do other programs such as real player.

This only started yesterday, before then I had no major problems.

I can't put it down to 10.4.6 or the firmware upgrade as the crashing started well after the system upgrade and well before the firmaware upgrade.

I just can't think what could have brought this on. The only new things I did were:
1. I created a word document with an "invoice" template. The template behaved very wierdly. The next day the crashing started.
2. I also updated Adobe Reader some point in the day.
3. Visited a financial site which wouldn't load for me (very unusual). Tech support told me to clear my cache which I did. It didn't help because the problem was on their server.

Anyone else had this?

I've had a similar problem. Playing around on my new Macbook, everything was fine. It seemed to be running a bit hot, but everything was good.

Then suddenly everything went wrong. The Big Bang board games bundled with it all crashed before fully launching. Mail launched then crashed, so did iChat. iPhoto was fine, and the problem described above with Safari also occurred. The same problem happened with Camino, but not Firefox (all latest builds).

No problems on the main Admin account though. In the end I trashed the user account with the problem, created a new one, and hey presto! It all worked.

My worry is; for how long. Initially I thought it might be a hat issue from the Core Duo running very hot( around 95 degrees), but it seems from looking around that people on PPC also have had a similar problem.

I guess it's just fingers crossed time!
