my imac g5 17" without camera don't start!

I have an imac G5 17" PPC without camera. I cant start it up, it freeze in blue screen, but when I switch it on and off for more then 4 or 5 times its boots normally. when its start up if I need to restart it, it restart normally. when i turn it off for the whole night, in the morning I have to switch it on and off for many times until it boots normally.


It have 12 bad capacitors and i manage to change all the capacitors and now cant boot it normally, any idea guys

If you take the back off the iMac, you can see if it has a small 'watch type' battery. Perhaps this battery is going bad.


I have a similar G5 iMac, only in 20" that I'm having screen problems with, and had the back off it the other night and I remember seeing a PRAM battery mounted on the logic board. Since I've gotten no suggestions to my discussion thread on that topic, I was considering replacing my PRAM battery and see if it would help me. Not sure that it would, but it would be an inexpensive, low risk option to try.
