Additional things to try.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Hi texas mac man,

I was facing the same issue, where my ipad third generation after the upgrade to IOS5.01 started disconnecting from the newtork Wifi & started to get very frustrating. I have tried everthing from network settings to ipad reboots...to various other prescribed remedies.. the one that really worked was a trial and error menthod.

Lynksis - Cisco router

1) I reset my router network setting

2) Configured the band from " Mixed" to "G Only"

3) The network's computer was unplugged from the physical lan port connect of the Wifi & was put to the use the same Wifi band

4) Configured the router to "router" rather than a "gateway"

Ultimately i am not still sure what rectified the problem but it work perfectely fine now... not missing on any notifications and the internet works seamless on the ipad finally, just like how it use to when i first got it

OK, after resetting the WIFI about 5 times, kept having little glitches, quite a lot of settings to make you know. Anywho- it worked. I haven't had the problem since about a month ago. Great, apparently the WIFI's available now have more available characters in their protocol, and Apple built the update for the new protocol.

I hope that makes sense.

Good Luck
