Printer busy message

After clearing a paper jam, my (IPP) HP laser jet keeps giving "printer busy". I've emptied the queue, deleted and re-installed the printer in preferences and rebooted but problem persists. Printer works fine for other computers on the home network. Any suggestions?

For the sake of future persons let me summarize the solution. I went to applecare twice over three days and the last person had it nailed.

The printer queue got corrupted and only could be completely rooted out by a "scorched earth approach":

Option click on the space under listed printers and delete/reset all.

Option go menu to libraries and check that printers folder is empty.

In the the printers folder under libraries for the boot disk, delete the folder for the offending printer (in my case HP).

Then go back and add back the printer, and reinstall the approapriate driver. I also had an issue with how to connect my printer, IPP or Jetdirect sockets.

I'm good to go now and dr document, thank you for your help and hand holding.
