why are sticky keys blocking dictation on my macbook pro in mountain lion?

I'm trying to use dictation while using sticky keys. Sticky keys are blocking me from using the function key double tap to trigger the microphone icon that lets me use dictation. Can I find away to use both.

I'm handicapped and need both.

Macbookpro, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

It looks like you can customize the keystrokes necessary to turn on dication.

Or, you can use "start dictation" from the editing menu.

The sticky keys that have to be double clicked don't work. example option twice or function twice.

I was able to do Shift - Command - Space under costomize though. That's not to bad for quickness although I'm pretty sure I use that command in Photoshop.

Command - Shift works too.

I'd use the menu in edit but it is to many steps.

Thanks for making me try agian a costomizing the command.

Regards

Hal
