Once again hanks for the help guys!
In rare circumstances, an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may not be recognized in iTunes on Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard after the Mac is restarted. If you reinstall iTunes, your device may be recognized. However, restarting your Mac may result in the device not being recognized again.
Note: These steps do not apply to OS X Lion or Mountain Lion.
Follow the below steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Note: Some of these steps will require that you enter your Mac OS X user password. If you do not know your user's password, follow this article first.
- Install all software updates. If you have an update available for an SDK (Software Development Kit), be sure these updates are also installed. Do this by clicking the Apple () menu, choosing Software Update, and following the on-screen instructions. If you need to download iTunes manually, you can download it here.
- Disconnect the device and quit iTunes.
- In Finder, click the Go menu and then choose Go to Folder. Enter the following location into the text field that appears:
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons
- Click Go.
- Locate the file "com.apple.usbmuxd.plist~orig" and drag it to the Trash. (Do not move the similarly named "com.apple.usbmuxd.plist" file to the Trash.)
- Restart your Mac, open iTunes, and connect your device. If your device shows up in iTunes, restart your Mac one more time and confirm the issue is still resolved.
