Siri consistently gets my son's name wrong

How do I get Siri to hear me and spell my son's name correctly? I'd like to be able to text my husband about my son's sports and other activities and food choices, etc. And Siri consistenly spells his name crazy ways. My husband is about to upgrade to the new iPhone 5 also as soon as he can get one. So he'll have the same challenge.

Thank you so much for trying to help me!

No, it doesn't give me a list at all of names. It just completely mis-types it. A huge variety of ways. I try clicking on the blue and fixing it and that doesn't seem to help. Siri is making up all sorts of things.

Jerres / Jerris / Jared / Jaron .... (I actually have a friend whose husband is "Jaron" ... I wonder if Siri

I've got my son in there as if he is a person with an email and phone number and everything. And Siri completely can't figure it out.

I guess I need to go to an Apple Store, and talk to someone at the Genius Bar and ask them to help me figure this out. And, if that doesn't work, there can be feedback given .... it looks to me like enough of us have this identical challenge - we want our children's names to be spelled correctly and nothing works.

(I am open to more suggestions if anyone has any.)

By the way, I've sat there over and over and over and texted myself, texted my husband. Saying my son's name over and over and over for quite a while, 2 days in a row, fixing it over and over and over to make it correct. (By the way - I have a keyboard shortcut so if I type the first 3 letters of his name, the rest populates in....) .... and Siri is no closer to learning this now than "she" was when I got the phone almost a week ago.

The phonetic thing - I did that several times. It doesn't help. Thanks anyway though. I dare you to try to add the name "Jareth" with a bogus email and phone number. And then try to text someone and tell them the name "Jareth" ... do the phonetic thing yourself. Tell me if it works for you. My phone is NOT learning; NOT getting this correct.

I just checked the phoenetic. I have it set to sound like "Jared" and now when I text myself his name, it says over and over and over "Terrace."
