Q: Printer preferences

Hi everyone, I've just migrated to an iMac operating on Moutain Lion and linked by network to a Canon MX410 printer.  I'm having difficulty setting preferences for printing photosCan anyone tell me please how I can select the paper type (glossy photo etc) in the print options window and also set the printer to the highest quality settings..  If I can manage to do it once I can then save it as preset.

As a supplementary question, how should I set the colour management, should I just rely on the iMac to talk to the printer about that on ColourSync?

Thanks in advance

Jeff

In the print dialogue box click on the button at the bottom that says Show Details.

As sig has stated, with the Show Details selected in the print dialog, you can select the Quality & Media menu which gives you access to those settings.

As for ColorSync, leave the Color Matching menu set to Canon Color Matching. This is because the colour profiles provided by Canon are based on the paper type selected. So choosing a glossy photo paper in Quality & Media will use the appropriate Canon ICC profile.

Thanks sig & PAHU, it might have seemed like a very basic question, but I'm still finding my way around, the Mac. With your help the problem is solved.
