My 2wire router has slowed down to a crawl recently. Used to download at 5 Mps, now it's at 2 Mps. Connecting iMac through Ethernet.
Settings are correct. AT&T has offered little help. Suggestions?

Try re-setting the DSL or Cable Modem if you have one. Connect only one router.

2wire554 router. Installed Aug.2011 and speed test then registered5.04 MPS. That is only router - not connected to another one. Ethernet in, out to phone line. Phone line has DSL filters. Have re-set router many times with same slow result.
Your problem is not your router then. I'd be asking your ISP. The problem sounds like ISP is throttling your speeds or you have a faulty modem.
NOT a router issue.
In order to determine what the problem is I'd be directly
connecting to your ADSL modem and test your ping and
connection speed by going to www.speedtest.net.
After seeing the results you can easily determine where
your problem lies.
When in doubt always direct connect when you have issues
with network speed.
Tech from At&T finally came to house and repaired a phone line problem. Working fine now. They should have tried that 2weeks ago when I identified the problem.
