there has to be some way to fix it -_-

Megan:

Take it from a retired sailor with 21+ years in the US Navy working on electronics: Your iPod is toast. Not only is salt water a very good conductor of electricity, salt water also chemically attacks metals through a process called Galvanic Corrosion.

To start the process all you need are two dissimilar metals and an electrolyte. Vairous metals are used to make electronics and when you throw in a little salt water you get electrical currents running every where. Another source of current is the battery... Add to that the fact that salt water will also attack the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), and you end up with wet, salty paper weight.

You very likely cannot fix it.

Do not try to turn it on or charge it.

Let it dry for a week or so.

See what happens

Ain't gonna work. Sea water contains salt. Salt is naturally hygroscopic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hygroscopy) and even the most minute amount will absorb water vapor from the air.

Removing every tiny bit of salt would require flushing the device with copious amounts of distilled water, and even then there are no guarantees... Unfortunately the iPod is dead...
