Pages not updating from version 4.0.3 to latest version on my macbok pro.

hi,

i really need someones help, i recently got th new ipad for my birthday and bought the latest pages on it. now, the only problem is that i need the pages on my macbook pro, which is version 4.0.3 to update. it won't. i did though buy the entire iwork programing on a CD. does that mean it is too old? Also, when i try to buy the latest pages through the App Store it says that i just need to update my already existing pages. but, again it won't let me.

i'm running on the Mac OS X (10.7.5) and i have icloud. (and i have tried to update my keynote, numbers, etc. and it also won't let me)

please someone help me i don't know what to do and i need the pages to corelate with the pages on my ipad (icloud).

The current version of iWork is 9.2, but for Lion you really only need 9.1. iWork '09 installed from the retail disk or from the downloaded trial must be updated through Software Update. If you're not running the latest versions of the iWork apps installed from a retail box or the downloaded trial & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. If you installed from the downloaded trial or the retail box, they must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.

Wow! What a simplistic solution, and what a stupid updater! I moved the application out of a sub-folder and put them in the root of Applications. I moved them back into the sub-folder and this fixed me right up. Thanks!

Peggy, maybe you can't help with a similar issue. I own the retail DVD installer of iWork 903. I installed, but software update will not see any other updates available (even though I know there are). I haven't moved the apps, I'm using 10.6.8, and I see other people having similar issues through out the forum. Did Apple just pull these, meaning SU won't see them, but you can download them manual. But, how do you know what you need. I even see a Keynote 511 update in apple's downloads section.

As I run 10.6.8, should I just download and install 9.1 and the the keynote 511?
