I have the Generation 2 ipod (yes pretty old). i went to use it again and i cannot download any applications because i do not have 'iOS 4.3'. How do i get this software? and if i cant, then what am i suppose to do?

You can't. The 2G can only go to 4.2.1. You need a newer model iPod.

You can only get the current version of apps from the App store. The only way would be if you had previous download the version that worked with IOS 4.2.1 and you have that copy on your computer or in a computer file backup.

We are having the same problem, and we spent $100 + tax each on two of our iPod touch 2gens. Very upset - these are the things nobody tells you before...
