I prefer the Side Switch as volume control & at the same time I dont want to lock rotation. What's the solution?

Just noticed that the game apps no longer have speaker sounds. Read Apple's explanation regarding the lock switch to set as a volume controller or lock rotation. I like to have speaker sounds with the side switch as the volume controller and at the same time do not want to lock rotation. Is there a way to have both? Instead of just one way or another.
