transitions and later clip editing

As far as I can tell, once you insert a transition between two clips, it isn't really easy to edit the clips beginning and end. Before adding a transition, you can hover over the beginning or end of a clip and it will either lengthen or shorten the clip if you desire to have more or less of the clip shown in your project. However, once a transition is inserted, it seems to only allow you to either change the duration of your transition or move the split between the two clips (lengthen the first clip while shortening the second accordingly, or vice versa depending on which way you move your cursor).

Is there a way(and hopefully easily) to edit the beg and end points of a clip without having to delete the transition first? (And, then of course, having to reinsert the transition once you are done.)?

You can edit the clips with the transitions. Use the control tabs at the top of the transition.
