Resetting ical

Hi, my ical wont allow me to access preferences, and my existing calendars have disappeared. I am using 10.7.5 on an intel core i7 macbook pro. Is there a way of reinstalling ical or a preferences file I can delete so I can recreate the calendars, thanks
