i have an iphone4 and updated my phone to ios6. after the update, all my apps keep crashing and my phone is SOOOOOOOOO laggy now. omg. it's so freaking slow and it's so annoying how all my apps including twitter, fb, instagram, tumblr and etc keep on crashing.. urgh.

Basics from the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
Go through each of these steps in order until your problem is solved. If these steps don't solve your problem, bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.
you can also try clearing out your multi tasking (double tap the home button)
The list you see when you double-tap the home button are recently used apps, not necessarily multi-tasking apps. There are very few apps that actually run in the background.
